The Clinic Director ensures smooth day-to-day operations of an ophthalmology clinic overseeing both patient care and administrative workflows. This role combines supervisory administrative and operational dutiesdemanding excellent leadership organizational and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees appointment scheduling patient registration medical records management and patient care to ensure efficient and quality service delivery.
Coordinates with clinical and front office staff to optimize patient flow maximize provider productivity and minimize patient wait times.
Hires trains and manages a high-performing team capable of carrying out operational tasks and responsibilities.
Develops and manages staff schedules for clinical and front office staff aligning work hours and responsibilities with patient volume and provider availability.
Monitors coaches and evaluates performance of clinical and front office staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with established performance standards.
Ensures adequate inventory of office and clinical supplies oversees routine maintenance of equipment and maintains a clean organized and professional clinic environment.
Oversees and supports effective use of the electronic medical record (EMR) system and maintains data accuracy.
Serves as a liaison between providers staff patients and external vendors to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
Coaches and evaluates all clinic and front office staff to ensure standards of performance clinical protocols and professional behavior are being met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Minimum of two years experience as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is required
Bachelors degree preferred
Three years experience in a general management role is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Word
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
