About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy teams. This position will primarily provide assistance to the physiotherapists and occupational therapists on the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) particular this incudes assisting patient mobility practice supervising patient exercise and therapy across both individual and group sessions ADL retraining and other duties as directed.
Duties include
Implementation of treatment as directed including exercises mobility ADL retraining and gait aid provision
Accurate treatment monitoring and evaluation of patients programs and conditions
Maintain effective communication with all team members including reporting back to the supervising physiotherapist regarding patient management and progress.
Administration duties to assist in the daily operation of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy department.
The classification for this position is IN29 ($62540 per annum).

Physiotherapy Department
The Physiotherapy Department provides high quality clinical services across a spectrum of acute sub-acute and outpatient services. The Department works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment treatment and a range of therapeutic services to optimise patient care and maximise function. The Department is committed to fostering excellence in evidence based clinical care research and education.
Occupational Therapy Department
The Occupational therapy department provides a service across both Fitzroy and Kew hospital sites and is supported by a team of AHAs working across acute sub-acute and community programs. The department has a strong culture of working closely within a multidisciplinary team to provide a quality allied health service that focuses on client centred practice and that promotes Occupational Justice whilst incorporating the mission and values of the Sisters of Charity.
