Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Civil Site Engineer to lead our Charleston offices civil site team. This is a leadership role focused on driving business growth managing multidisciplinary teams delivering exceptional site development projects and cultivating strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management staff leadership and business development within site civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the civil site practice by executing strategic growth plans alongside office managers and practice leaders
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to generate new business opportunities in the Charleston and broader Lowcountry market
- Oversee design permitting and construction oversight for site development projects
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including mentoring and performance management of junior and senior staff
- Prepare and contribute to winning proposals and project bids
- Monitor and manage department budgets and resource allocation to ensure financial success
- Recruit hire and develop high-performing engineering staff
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor for project teams
- Promote a culture of quality safety and client satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in site civil engineering including project management and business development
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on staff development
- Proven ability to build client relationships and grow a civil engineering practice
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard engineering software
- Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills
- Local market knowledge of the Charleston and Lowcountry region is a strong plus
