Mental Health Assistant Primary Haringey September 2025

Mental Health Assistant What the School Offers

Mental Health Assistant What the Role Involves

  • Supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of pupils across the school
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with children experiencing SEMH needs
  • Assisting with the implementation of targeted interventions and wellbeing programmes
  • Collaborating closely with teaching and pastoral staff to monitor pupil progress
  • Maintaining records and contributing to reporting on pupil development
  • Interviews to begin the week commencing 25th August 2025

Mental Health Assistant What the School is Looking For

The ideal candidate will be proactive compassionate and committed to supporting childrens mental health and wellbeing. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential. A 2:1 or First-Class degree from a top 30 UK university is preferred and previous child-centred experience will be highly valued. Please note applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Salary and Contract Info

  • General TA / SEN TA roles: 444 per week pro rata (term time only)
  • Contract: Full time long term (SeptemberJuly) term time only
  • Potential for future teacher training or contract extensions following a successful placement
