The part-time Tutor Lab Manager manages the daily operations of the TRIO Student Support Services tutoring lab as well as provides tutoring services. This individual will assist the TRIO Student Support Services Director in recruiting and hiring new professional and peer tutors; offer guidance and technical instruction to tutors about methods and techniques for ensuring relevant and courteous service; manage all in-person and online tutoring services; and keep records and generate a variety of reports to ensure compliance with program goals. Reports to the TRIO Student Support Services Director. This is a grant-funded position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory: Coordinates all tutoring services including but not limited to tutoring training and managing all tutors.
Budgetary: Maintains materials supplies and equipment necessary for current and up-to-date tutoring practices within budgetary constraints and director approval; maintains materials supplies and equipment inventories.
Tutoring Program Effectiveness: Works with the Director to collect and evaluate data related to schedules participation services best practices and other topics as needed; prepares reports as needed; use evaluated data to recommend and implement changes to improve tutoring services; maintains a Tutoring Services Policies and Procedures manual; and collaborates with Pensacola State Colleges other tutoring labs/services.
Safety: Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with an Associates of Arts is required. Bachelors degree preferred. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of 435.04(2) Florida Statutes related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
Salary: $17.00/hour No more than 20 hours a week 44 weeks
