The primary responsibilities of the position of Training/Liaison Specialist include training staff and stakeholders on NCDAC (NC Department of Adult Correction) processes and procedures and providing training and technical assistance for platforms such as the Offender Population Unified System (OPUS) OmniDocs and OmniScan. Training will occur in person through e-learning modules or virtual meetings.
The training position requires considerable knowledge of training procedures and techniques group processes technology instructional design criminal laws and procedures correctional operations court processes and NCDAC policies. Familiarity with platforms such as OPUS OmniDocs OmniScan and eCourts is critical. The position will develop training modules manuals lesson plans job aids presentations and other resources designed to ensure a knowledgeable and competent workforce.
This position will be responsible for conducting training courses relating to Auditing Data Repair Detainers Release Management and EDMS/Classification sections within the Combined Records office as needed.
While the primary focus of the position is to provide training for Combined Records the trainer also will provide any necessary training and information for internal stakeholders related to NCDAC records and sentencing. A primary goal will be to create efficiencies among internal stakeholders avoid duplication of efforts and improve processes and operations overall.
The position will perform other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

TheCombined Recordssection is responsible for the development and maintenance of offender records and the calculation of sentences for all offenders who are incarcerated in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction facilities. The staff at Combined Records obtain information from a variety of sources including the courts the Post- Release Supervision/Parole Commission the North Carolina Department of Justice the Attorney Generals Office and federal state and county law enforcement agencies. The section also provides auxiliary services to the Post-Release Supervision/Parole Commission Community Supervision and the Extradition Office.
