Job Description

Lakeside Generations a Cassia community is hiring aHealth Unit Coordinator/ Staff Schedulerto join our team!This role will be split between HUC duties and Scheduler duties.

For the HUC portion of the job you will coordinate information and provide administrative support to our team to ensure our residents and visitors have the best possible experience. Our ideal candidate has a knowledge of medical terminology and prior experience as a Health Unit Coordinator.

For the Scheduler portion of the job you will organize and schedule appropriate clinical department coverage including the master schedule daily schedule and scheduling replacements for shifts. You will also perform HR tasks such as compiling employee files training and scheduling employees.

Position Type:Full-Time working a varied schedule

Wage Range:$18.20 - $22.19 / hour depending on experience.

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) responsibilities:

  • Answers telephones and directs visitors.
  • Maintains residents medical records.
  • Coordinates appointments and communication with physicians and up medical appointments and arranges transportation of residents as needed.
  • Transcribes Physicians Orders with high degree of accuracy in thefacilityEHR census data.
  • Assist with paperwork and medical documentation related to resident admissions
  • Complete other tasks as requested.
Scheduler Responsibilities:
  • Create bi-weekly nurse staffing schedule.
  • Apply collective bargaining agreement to schedule and short notice staffing.
  • Help with employee engagement programming and assistance.
  • Take after hours call coverage via phone.
  • Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents families and staff.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
HUC/ Scheduler Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a healthunit coordinator or health information certification desired.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Previous staff scheduling and health care experience a plus!
  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to find solutions within guidelines that create win-win situations.
  • Desire to support a direct care team for the older population and others in need.
  • Accurate and proficient computer skills including Windows based applications.
  • Time management skillsfor working in a fast-paced multi-taskenvironment.
