Responsible for maintaining a safe environment on the University campus through enforcement of State Statutes Local Ordinances and University Regulations. Required to conduct preliminary and latent investigations of all incidents that require police assistance and document these situations when appropriate. Strives to maintain a positive rapport with the community in the performance of duties. Maintains demeanor at all times.

Required Licensure
This position requires a Certificate of Compliance in Law Enforcement issued by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission. Applicant must maintain this certificate & a valid Florida Drivers License during employment. A Physical Agility Examination must be passed prior to employment.

Supervision Received

Campus Security Authority (CSA) This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as aCSAbecause it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that your responsibility for students campus activities and/or campus security will make you someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. ACSAis not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSAs responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in-person training session. The holder of this position is designated as a Responsible Employee pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct sexual violence and child sexual abuse by or against any student employee contractor or visitor to the Universitys Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
Must meet the requirements of Chapter 943 Florida Statutes and have 1 years of sworn law enforcement or sworn investigative experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Statement(s) of Understanding
