We need a Database Developer.
You dont just manage data you architect clarity. Youre someone who thrives in complex environments sees patterns others dont and turns raw data into structured actionable gold. If youre fluent in SQL energized by data loading pipelines and love building clean reusable database views that drive smart decision-making we want to work with you. What youll do:
- Be part of a team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers who are studying ways to improve the quality and reduce the cost of care provided to chronically ill Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. (No big deal).
- Ingest new data sources into the CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse (CCW) helping expand access to valuable healthcare data for research and policy innovation.
- Build optimize and maintain data views that integrate new and existing datasetsensuring accuracy clarity and usability for analysts and researchers.
- Design and support ETL workflows in a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake) ensuring reliability and scalability of data loading operations.
- Support production operations including rotation-based responsibilities for ETL loadssome of which may occur off-hours or on weekends.
- Document processes and business logic creating reliable technical references that support audits troubleshooting and onboarding.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts technical leads and CMS partners to align data structures with end-user needs and program goals.
- Proactively identify and resolve database or performance issues contributing to continuous improvement of data systems.
What wed like you to have:
- A bachelors degree in data science computer science information systems or a related field.
- 2 years of experience as a Database Developer ideally in a government or healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience with SQL ETL development and data warehouse concepts.
- Understanding of data management best practices - permissions recovery security and monitoring.
- Familiarity with front-end requirements and ability to translate business needs into backend solutions.
- Knowledge of development tools such as Framework JavaScript HTML and Oracle.
- A proactive problem-solving attitude and strong communication skills.
What would blow us away:
- Youve supported CMS or similar federal health data programs before.
- Youve worked with Snowflake or modern cloud-based data warehouses.

$100000 - $125000 a year
