Job Description
American International University (AIU) Kuwait City is seeking a FullTime Faculty Member in Biotechnology for theacademic year to join the School of Arts & Sciences.
The ideal candidate is a studentcentered educator with the ability to teach both introductory and advanced courses in Biology and Biotechnology. The candidate should be innovative in instructional approaches experienced with classroom and online teaching modalities and adept at integrating industryrelevant tools and trends into the learning environment. A commitment to research curriculum development and service to the school and university is also expected.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Biology and Biotechnology
- Deliver instruction across multiple modalities (inperson hybrid online) using appropriate instructional technologies and LMS platforms
- Supervise and mentor students in academic and research projects
- Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
- Participate in university service including committees and academic advising
- Engage in research and scholarly activities in the candidates field of expertise
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment especially for English language learners
- Masters or Ph.D. in Biology Biotechnology or a closely related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of university teaching experience (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of industry or professional experience in Biology or a related field (preferred)
- Strong communication skills in English (instruction is in English)
- Experience teaching diverse student populations including English language learners
- Proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence mentoring and collaborative academic environments
- Experience with program assessment and outcomesbased education is highly desirable
