The Centre for Global Engagement (CGE) within SU International has a position for a dynamic person interested in the field of internationalisation and international partnerships. The vacant position is situated in the Unit for Partnerships and the incumbent will report to the Director: Centre for Global Engagement.
Duties/Pligte
Developing overseeing and managing bilateral and multilateral / network partnerships according to the internationalisation policy and partnership framework of Stellenbosch University. This will be done with team members from the Centre for Global Engagement and the Centre for Collaboration in Africa. Tasks will entail managing agreement negotiations reviews implementing and monitoring processes and overseeing dedicated agreement consultation structures such as the Working Group for Agreement Development. The incumbent will further support the regional partnership development approach of SU International by being the partnership custodian for a dedicated geographical area.
With the above-mentioned responsibilities the position is also focused on ensuring alignment between the SU Internationalisation Strategy and the subsequent development and implementation of the Partnership Framework thereby supporting the Office of the Senior Directors internationalisation policy and strategy development efforts.
Supporting and participating in the forums which serves as important vehicles for Faculty and School consultations regarding internationalisation matters.
Working alongside the Senior Coordinator: Comprehensive Partnership Portfolio in the further development and consolidation of the Comprehensive Partnership Portfolio as provisioned for in the Partnership Framework.
Providing oversight support and guidance to the Programme Manager: Staff Internationalisation regarding Staff Internationalisation initiatives.
Providing oversight support and guidance to the management and implementation of the Erasmus mobility programme. This will be done in collaboration with the Administrative Officer: Information Management Partnerships and Erasmus Programme.
Providing oversight support and guidance to the Coordinator: Information Management and Multilateral Networks regarding the development implementation and uptake of the INTERINFO system. This will be done in collaboration with the Director: Centre for Collaboration in Africa.
Responsible for human resource matters pertaining to the team members of the Unit for Partnerships (staff members and student interns) who report to the Senior Programme Manager: Unit for Partnerships.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Postgraduate degree.
Five to seven years experience within a higher education institution.
Strong administrative coordination and management skills.
Proven experience in managing a team of employees and in dealing with HR-related matters.
Demonstrable self-management skills excellent communication and interpersonal skills and being a hands-on team player with a demonstrated record of accomplishment to date.
The ability to engage successfully with individuals across various levels within and external to the organisation and verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to take initiative exercise judgement solve problems and work accurately with minimal supervision.
A strong understanding of and sensitivity to different cultural issues.
The ability to function effectively under pressure.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook Internet).
Recommendation/Aanbeveling
Masters degree.
Experience working with stakeholders in the Middle East India and Southeast Asia.
Experience in managing international partnerships and working within an international office or centre.
Knowledge in the use of the Universitys administrative and financial systems.
