Job Description

MA Journeyman Electricians License preferredPosition is anticipated to be needed from August 25 2025 through November 25 2025 for 62 school days but may be extended based on the needs of the district. Salary is step 1 Column 1 of the Unit D Contract and will be prorated based on the number of days of the Position: To help support students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual emotional and psychological growth and maturation entry-level skills in the trade area as well as providing a smooth transition to possible higher education and employment in mid-level technical Electrical Substitute will spend their time supporting and supervising hands-on practical applications in a shop setting and providing support with student learning in the theory Responsibilities within the classroom and shop environment: Help establish and maintain a classroom and shop culture of safety a strong work ethic and respect. Assist the instructor in implementing a curriculum scope and sequence in accordance with the suggested NEC and MEC for residential commercial and industrial installations in the electricity program and abide by all Chapter 74 laws. Work to engage and encourage students while respecting individual abilities and progress. Support enforce follow up and monitor safety procedures for all shop projects. Facilitate and support the implementation of hands-on projects that align with the VTE Framework. Facilitate and support the implementation of daily lesson plans to teach the skills required to master electrical and related competencies. Support enforce follow-up and monitor the proper storage and security of supplies tools and equipment. Provide immediate supervision to all students to ensure they safely and effectively operate the wide range of electrical tools and equipment. Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return work promptly to promote maximum learning. Assist the instructor in administering oral written or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness. Assist the instructor in assembling books materials supplies and equipment for training courses or projects. Help to prepare students for entry-level employment advanced training apprenticeship programs or post-secondary education. Substitute for other instructors within the field or discipline in case of an absence. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students faculty staff and parents. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with students colleagues staff and administrators as an individual or on a team. Transport students to off-campus job sites and supervise to maintain a safe learning environment. Oversee students working on and off-campus. Prepare and deliver instructional lessons with clear and measurable outcomes in accordance with the Districts expectations. Maintain up-to-date grade books and manage electronic classroom systems/software in accordance with the Districts expectations.
