Description
Hire Resolves client is looking for a seasoned and results-driven Senior General Manager to oversee all aspects of mining operations to be based in the Northern Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Advise and inform the Board on critical operational financial and strategic matters ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to align mining operations with overall corporate goals sustainability targets and value creation.
- Oversee all aspects of daily open-pit mining activities ensuring safe efficient and continuous production in line with budget and targets.
- Manage major operational and service contracts to ensure contractors deliver according to agreed terms and scope.
- Provide strategic leadership for geological modelling resource estimation mine planning and reconciliation to support short- and long-term production.
- Drive the optimisation of the Life of Mine Plan to maximise resource utilisation and economic value.
- Oversee support functions such as logistics SHEQ HR and compliance ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Own full site financial accountability including budgets forecasts risk management and compliance with audit and finance policies.
- Build and lead a high-performance leadership team driving change management talent development and workforce capability.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including government communities and labour groups ensuring sustainable practices and positive community impact.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
- Degree in Mining Engineer or related
- MBA Certificate or equivalent
- 12 years experience in a senior/leadership role within the mining industry.
- Valid Drivers License
