Job Description
Technician Laboratory Contractor
Mid Career- Sector: Engineering
- Function: Technician Laboratory
Are you a detailoriented laboratory professional with a passion for quality and precision We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Department on a 6month fixedterm contract.
In this role you will be at the forefront of ensuring the integrity of our production processes by conducting tests on substrates inks chemicals and final products. Your work will directly support quality assurance and R&D functions while contributing to the protection of national currency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To ensure compliance to equipment calibration specifications and update procedures.
- Conduct tests on substrate ink chemicals effluent and final product.
- Run monthly reports and document all nonconformances.
- Identify deviations from standards and specifications and recommend rectifications.
- Conduct investigations on counterfeit notes.
- Ensure dual control and balancing of notes and that all notes are accounted for.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and compile annual calibration control matrix.
- Train staff in the use of laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Adhere to SHEQ standards and regulations.
- Engage in problem solving exercises to improve business operations as required.
- Work in crossfunctional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the R&D function with testing data capturing and analysis.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 and National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry/Chemistry.
- 25 years experience in a laboratory environment within the printing industry.
- Exposure to ISO 9001 standard.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025.
