Duties & Responsibilities
Junior Attorney Durbanville Western Cape
RPer Month (Excluding Commission)
Exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Attorney within a reputable propertyfocussed law firm based in Durbanville Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in law (essential)
- Admitted attorney with 2 years post articles experience
- Proven litigation experience in the Magistrates and High Courts
- Demonstrated ability to manage legal matters from inception to judgement
- Tech savvy Ability to use tech products to streamline work
- Experience in drafting negotiating and reviewing legal documents
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
- Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Valid Drivers License
Advantageous:
- Experience in propertylaw related matters Landlord and tenant sectional titles levy collections and related fields
- Admission as a conveyancer and experience in that field
Responsibilities:
- Monitor legal risk in documentation and giving guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk
- Interpret laws rulings and regulations for natural and juristic persons
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence
- Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed
- Explain the law and give legal advice
- Offer legal representation at arbitration or mediation hearings
- Draft review and manage contracts
- Manage regulatory and compliancerelated services
- Facilitate innovative solutions to client problems
- Offer legal representation to clients in court proceedings on civil matters
- Prepare pleadings notices and make appearances in court
