Job Description

Location Cape Town
REPORTS TO
Technical Principal or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.
PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE
Provide and undertake complex design modelling and production tasks prepare tender/construction documents and provide technical support services in meeting the requirements of the functional group and its clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
3D Modelling and detailing
Quality audit on outgoing drawings/ models
Modelling 3D 4D and 5D models of projects for production
BIM implementation
Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings
Mentor train and provide technical support to junior staff
Conducting conceptual and detailed design and drafting in order to prepare technical drawings and documentation
Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables
Applying a deeper understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems
Maintain a high level of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) and modelling expertise and engineering knowledge
Undertake supervisor role and lead on projects
Coordination of multi-disciplinary work on projects
Contribute to the overall management and profitably of the functional group
Ensure drawings and documentation are to the highest quality
Maintain client satisfaction
Strictly adhere to SMECs Management System (MS) quality standards and OHS procedures
Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions
Parametric Modelling
Model Federation
Automation and coding
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Accuracy of drawings
Meeting set deadlines
Ability to work independently
Identifies and understands technical issues problems and opportunities
Project delivery to meet clients ToR/ BEP
Development of networks and contribution to team goals
Commercial awareness

ISO-19650 Understanding
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Professional Registration in Draughting (Autodesk Certified)
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
Minimum of 5 years in similar position
Some key experience in relevant projects
Proficiency in Revit C3D Bentley and any other discipline associated software essential
BIM360/ ACC and ProjectWise Proficiency
Modelling and detailing to required LOD outlined in BEP
Experience working on major infrastructure/ building projects
Ability to work well within team and positive attitude to your work
Strive to deliver projects on time and to budget
