Job Description

Our client a reputable mining company is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will apply engineering knowledge to maintain a wide range of instrumentation equipment including crushers vibrating screens conveyors stackers reclaimers slurry and process water pumps sample cutters and more. Key responsibilities will involve ensuring the smooth operation of equipment such as hydraulic drives dust suppression systems radio networks PLC systems SCADA systems and condition monitoring tools. The role also requires expertise in process flow and instrumentation diagrams for various production processes including crushers conveyors beneficiation and load-out stations. Experience with asset management EAMS strategy and business processes is essential to optimize plant operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrumentation and technical support services to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of plant operations.
  • Monitor and maintain asset care to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Compile and submit regular reports on equipment status and performance.
  • Assist in budget preparation and control to manage costs effectively.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SHERQ standards and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Uphold strong work ethics and ensure professional conduct at all times.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12.
  • National Diploma: S4 or T3 or N6 with Trade Test in Electrical Engineering or Process Instrumentation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years operational engineering experience as a qualified Instrumentation Technician in an automated plant environment.
