Job Description

A well-established market leader in the electrical engineering industry seeks a Sales & Business Development Director to join their team. This is a compelling opportunity for a seasoned professional to shape the commercial strategy of a company poised for growth and innovation.

Purpose of the Role
To lead the business development function by identifying strategic market opportunities defining and executing growth plans managing the commercial team and contributing to the organisation s digital and operational transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development and sales strategies aligned with the companys growth objectives.
  • Identify and capitalise on market gaps and emerging opportunities across the mining sector and broader industrial landscape.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the sales team fostering a high-performance culture focused on results and client relationships.
  • Oversee key account development client acquisition and long-term partnership management.
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and methodologies to enhance commercial performance and client engagement.
  • Lead change management initiatives that support strategic transformation and organisational agility.
  • Report on sales performance market trends and growth projections to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering operations and executive teams to align commercial activities with broader business goals.

Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior business development or commercial leadership role preferably within an industrial or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated success in formulating and delivering growth strategies in complex technical markets.
  • Proven experience in managing high-performing sales teams and fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Strong command of change management principles and digital transformation frameworks.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management Engineering or Sales Management.
  • Exceptional communication negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and business analytics tools.
