A public entity in the tourism sector seeks to appoint three (3) experienced Financial Accountants to assist in addressing audit findings related to the accuracy and completeness of travel expenditure transactions. The ideal candidates must have a strong financial accounting background including experience in processing travel-related payments and handling multi-currency transactions within a public sector environment. This is a contract-based opportunity based at the organisation s head office in Sandton.
- Accurately capture and process travel-related transactions in the financial system.
- Ensure timely processing of payments related to domestic and international travel.
- Perform reconciliations related to travel expenditure.
- Assist in the review of supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Capture transactions in the General Ledger with attention to completeness and accuracy.
- Handle transactions involving multiple foreign currencies.
- Maintain proper financial records and filing systems aligned to audit requirements.
- Support the team in preparing information for audit purposes and management reports.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Finance or related field.
- At least 3 years experience in a financial accounting environment.
Technical skills:
- Proficiency in using financial accounting systems (e.g. Sage Oracle SAP).
- Experience in processing travel-related payments and handling multi-currency transactions.
Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of financial processes and public sector compliance.
- Familiarity with General Ledger entries and payment reconciliations.
