Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the diary of the Parliamentary Chief Whip
- Completing wide-ranging administrative tasks including preparing letters reports minutes of meetings and presentations as well as providing logistical support and conducting meeting preparation
- Communicating directly and on behalf of the Parliamentary Chief Whip with internal departments and external stakeholders and responding to relevant queries
- Assisting the Chief of Staff in administrative and logistical matters relating to the office

Minimum requirements:
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- 5 years experience in a similar role providing support at executive level
- Extensive diary management experience
- Computer literacy particularly MS Office Suite
Skills:
- Written and verbal communication with the ability to draft formal correspondence
- Time management and organisation
- Administration and attention to detail
- Telephone and email etiquette
Abilities:
- Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
- Be outcomes-orientated not simply task-orientated
- Work independently
- Apply sound judgement and confidentiality
Knowledge and commitment:
- Commitment to the principles policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Willingness to go the extra mile which may include working long and irregular hours weekends and public holidays where necessary
