About the Role
We re building a small in-house art team to develop Digimon-style MMORPG content for an existing live game built on a 2009-era Gamebryo engine. This is a newly created role to increase internal art capacity. Were seeking a hands-on Art Lead / 3D Pipeline Coordinator with strong technical leadership skills to spearhead the team setup process development and asset implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small art team (modeler animator VFX)
- Take on active production work (modeling animation or visual effects)
- Establish and document a scalable 3D art pipeline compatible with the legacy Gamebryo engine
- Oversee asset integration including rigging animation and FX triggers
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager (UK) and client for milestone planning
- Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are met
- Provide feedback technical troubleshooting and pipeline optimizations
- Maintain detailed documentation for onboarding process standardization and team handovers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 years in 3D game art production (open to 3 5 years for highly capable candidates)
- Strong proficiency in at least two art disciplines: modeling rigging animation or VFX
- Experience working with older/custom engines (Gamebryo/NetImmerse a big plus)
- Technical knowledge in exporting naming conventions animation sequencing and FX triggers
- Team leadership and planning experience
- Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Strong documentation and process creation abilities
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SVN or similar version control
- Prior MMORPG or Digimon-style project experience
- Built pipelines or teams from the ground up
