Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and supervise the engineering team delegating tasks and providing guidance as needed On Board Cruise Ship

- Plan and oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems on board the vessel

- Monitor fuel and lubricant consumption ensuring efficient use and ordering supplies as needed

- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment identifying and addressing any potential issues

- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs including spare parts inventory

- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures including conducting regular safety drills and trainings for the engineering team

- Coordinate with other departments such as deck and catering to ensure smooth operation of the vessel

- Assist in the training and development of junior engineers and crew members

Requirements:

- Valid STCW certification including Chief Engineer Unlimited license

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a 1st Engineer on board commercial vessels

- Extensive knowledge of marine engineering systems and equipment

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

- Good physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions
