Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
ENVIRONMENT:
A Cape Town-based IT & Services company is seeking an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to join their distributed product team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Laravel and VueJS supported by a strong PHP background. They value professionals who thrive in asynchronous environments and take a proactive approach to their work.
DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain features in Laravel and VueJS
- Follow documented tickets and technical specs
- Communicate clearly in written form with teammates
- Use Git and Docker as part of your regular workflow
- Participate in team calls and async reviews
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years PHP experience
- 2 years Laravel
- 2 years VueJS
- 1 year PostgreSQL
- 1 year Docker (for local dev environments)
- 2 years using Git for source control
Nice-to-Have / Advantageous Experience:
- JetBrains PhpStorm experience
- Exposure to Agile working practices (e.g. standups ticket-based workflows)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot Claude Code etc)
- Basic experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
ATTRIBUTES:
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup
