Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join the culinary team at a luxury safari lodge located in the stunning North West region of South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate pastry professional to bring their creativity to a high-end hospitality-driven environment.
Requirements:
Formal culinary qualification with a focus on pastry or baking
Minimum 2 3 years experience in a pastry role preferably within a luxury lodge or fine dining establishment
Excellent knowledge of baking techniques pastry arts and dessert presentation
Ability to create a wide range of pastries cakes tarts breads and plated desserts
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a remote lodge setting
Organised reliable and calm under pressure
Willingness to live on-site and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present a variety of baked goods and desserts to a high standard
Develop innovative and seasonal pastry menus in line with the lodge s culinary offering
Ensure consistent quality portion control and presentation of all pastry items
Maintain a clean hygienic and organised pastry section
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate service
Assist in stock control ordering and cost management
Ensure adherence to health safety and hygiene standards at all times
This is a live-in position offering the chance to be part of a supportive and professional team in one of South Africa s most picturesque and wildlife-rich environments.
