Job Description
An electrical engineering firm is seeking a senior ECI engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
Role Overview:
The Senior ECI Engineer will be responsible for the design specification and delivery of electrical control and instrumentation systems on large-scale industrial projects. You will work closely with project managers clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of ECI systems for industrial or infrastructure projects
- Prepare detailed engineering documents: specifications datasheets drawings and schedules
- Conduct technical reviews risk assessments and safety evaluations (e.g. HAZOP SIL)
- Oversee installation commissioning and handover processes
- Liaise with vendors contractors and clients to ensure technical compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Control Systems or a related discipline
- 7 years of experience in ECI engineering within relevant industry
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g. IEC BS ATEX NEC)
- Proficiency in using engineering software tools such as AutoCAD EPLAN or AVEVA
- Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and instrumentation selection
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- Chartered status or working towards it (desirable)
