Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate hands-on Operations Manager for a luxury boutique hotel located in the sought-after area of Camps Bay. This role is ideal for a service-driven professional who thrives on creating exceptional guest experiences developing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence while maintaining a personalised authentic standard of hospitality.
This is a key leadership role focused on operational execution staff direction and consistency in service delivery. It demands a high level of leadership insight and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Delivery
Ensure the consistent delivery of personalised outstanding guest experiences aligned with a premium brand position
Engage personally with guests handling special requests and concerns with diplomacy and attentiveness
Drive memorable guest touchpoints from check-in to turndowns and celebratory stays
Lead by example in all guest-facing interactions and instil a culture of genuine thoughtful hospitality within the team
Operational Management
Oversee all operational departments including front office housekeeping kitchen food & beverage maintenance and night audit
Implement and maintain effective SOPs to ensure smooth operations without compromising on quality and luxury standards
Provide visible hands-on leadership and be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel
Team Leadership & Development
Directly manage and guide a team of approximately 35 staff
Provide clear daily direction feedback and coaching to empower duty managers and frontline team members
Identify training and growth opportunities mentoring junior staff into leadership roles
Foster a collaborative work culture while respecting departmental autonomy
Work alongside the Group GM on strategic planning budgeting and bespoke projects
Standards Procedures & Brand Integrity
Refine and standardise operating procedures as needed
Safeguard the visual identity and high-end service standards of the brand across all guest touchpoints
Uphold internal policies whilst fostering a culture that values flexibility and innovation
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
Minimum of 8 years in the hospitality industry with at least 3 years in a senior operations or management role
Prior experience in luxury or boutique 5-star properties
Demonstrated success in guest satisfaction team development and operational delivery
Strong knowledge of hotel systems SOP creation and front- and back-of-house operations
Skills & Attributes
Deeply guest-focused with exceptional attention to detail
Approachable hands-on leader with a visible presence in the operation
Strong advocate for team development and continuous improvement
Skilled in conflict resolution communication and strategic thinking
Able to balance structured operations with creativity and flexibility to meet guest needs
Additional Requirements
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town (live-out role)
Must have the legal right to work in South Africa
Familiarity with Cape Town s luxury hospitality sector is advantageous
Full Time
