Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
OVERVIEW:
Our client a well-established management consulting firm with a focus on the Banking and Insurance sector is looking for a skilled Reporting and Analytics Specialist with strong expertise in Power BI and extensive experience working with Global Markets / Corporate & Investment Banking data. This role will form a key part of the clients analytics function helping to turn complex trading and financial data into actionable insights for business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in data visualization reporting development and financial data analysis with a proven ability to engage directly with business users to understand reporting needs and deliver robust solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design develop and maintain advanced dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Analyse and interpret Global Markets and / Corporate & Investment Banking datasets ensuring accuracy integrity and relevance of reports.
- Collaborate with traders portfolio managers risk analysts and business stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
- Work closely with BI teams and backend data engineers to source structure and validate data for reporting purposes.
- Translate complex financial data models into user-friendly interactive dashboards for decision-making.
- Implement data quality controls to ensure consistency and reliability of reporting outputs.
- Provide ad hoc data analysis to support business queries and strategic decisions.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory compliance and governance standards for financial data reporting.
- Work within cloud data environments to access manipulate and model data from multiple sources.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong experience with Power BI development including DAX Power Query data modelling and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of Global Markets / CIB business processes trading data financial instruments and reporting needs.
- Excellent SQL skills for data extraction transformation and aggregation from multiple data sources.
- Strong analytical background with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
- Experience working closely with front-office teams traders or investment banking stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of data governance and regulatory requirements in financial markets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Advantageous Skills:
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud data services.
- Knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience with predictive analytics or machine learning models for financial forecasting (bonus).
- Familiarity with reporting for Risk Treasury Trading Derivatives or Investment Banking operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Information Systems Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of experience in reporting BI development or data analytics roles within banking or financial services.

- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with business and technical teams.
- Ability to simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders.
