Job Description
Introduction
We are working with a highly respected consulting engineering firm that is actively seeking a pivotal leader for their Structural Department in Johannesburg. This isnt just a role; its an opportunity to provide expert structural engineering services and drive the successful delivery of diverse multidisciplinary projects within a high-performance environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (BSc/BEng/BTech) or masters degree (MSc/Meng) in Civil Structural Engineering
- Professionally registered with ECSA PrEng/PrTech
- 10 years of professional experience including at least 2-3 years post professional registration.
- Effective report writing.
- Solid understanding of project financial knowledge including budgeting forecasting and invoicing.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities (including but not limited to):
- Conceptual and detailed design development on multiple complex projects providing efficient structural engineering solutions.
- Strong emphasis on structural engineering detailed design utilizing the latest software while maintaining a firm grasp of first principal hand calculations for verification.
- Assisting with budgets resourcing and outsourcing within the department.
- Drafting and implementing Works Authorisations/Variation Orders and assessing Contractors claims.
