Duties & Responsibilities

Job Title: Retail Sales Executive
Location: Kyalami Johannesburg (Office-Based)

Hours: 7:00 17:00
Travel: National travel required (including quarterly trips to Cape Town)
Remuneration: R 20000 CTC Basic excluding Comms Incentives

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly driven structured and results-oriented Retail Sales & New Business Development Representative to join our team at Head Office in Kyalami. This is a fast-paced sales-focused role ideal for someone with a strong hunter mentality exceptional organizational skills and solid experience in retail account management and new business acquisition.

The primary mandate is to optimize and grow our footprint in existing retail stores while actively acquiring new business opportunities. You will play a vital role in driving revenue improving product visibility and building long-term relationships within the retail landscape nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Identify and secure new retail store opportunities
  • Prepare and present compelling business proposals to retail decision-makers
  • Negotiate trading terms with new retail partners
  • Open and activate new stores with a focus on strategic expansion (VIP clients prioritized)
  • List new products and ensure maximum exposure in-store
  • Develop and implement sales growth strategies across all retail channels

Account & Sales Management

  • Build strong relationships with store managers and head office buyers
  • Optimize existing retail relationships and increase sales per store
  • Analyze in-store sales performance and make data-driven recommendations
  • Forecast trends track performance and manage sales targets by group/store
  • Collaborate with internal teams on pricing stock and promotional activities
  • Maintain and update detailed call cycles and store visit logs

Retail Operations & Merchandising

  • Visit all trading stores according to a structured store call register
  • Merchandise product displays to enhance brand presence and sales
  • Generate and capture replenishment orders using internal systems
  • Introduce new products and SKUs to store managers and ensure timely listing
  • Liaise regularly with internal merchandisers and retail operations teams

Requirements:

  • Proven retail track record in sales and/or new business development
  • Natural hunter personality proactive persistent and target-driven
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and forecasting capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRM platforms
  • Excellent computer/IT skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Must have experience with creating presentations (Adobe/Power Point)
  • Must have own reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
  • Able to travel for national business trips including quarterly travel to Cape Town
  • Experience in merchandising and retail product management is a plus
  • Prior experience managing or working closely with field sales teams or merchandisers is advantageous
