Stable and established client of mine is seeking a National Credit Manager. They are an African specialist and global supplier of their product and they have a strong team drive.

What you will be doing:
Credit Risk Management
- Control opening of new customer accounts
- Assess creditworthiness of new applications
- Recommend and implement credit limits
- Review and apply credit policies
- Conduct periodic credit reviews
- Monitor account statuses continuously
Credit Control Operations
- Authorise journal entries submitted by credit controllers
- Review account reconciliations regularly
- Enforce supply restrictions for overdue accounts
- Visit key/problematic accounts to resolve issues
- Liaise with customers and regional teams to collect overdue payments
- Accompany sales reps and managers on client visits
Collections & Legal
- Manage handovers to legal for collections
- Handle legal correspondence for liquidations and bad debts
- Work to minimise bad debt exposure
- Submit bad debt provision and year-end write-off list to Financial Director
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in credit management
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles and collection processes
- Ability to manage legal processes relating to bad debt
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to enforce policy
- Experience leading and developing credit control teams
