Job Description
Join Exxaro Resources as the Head of Maintenance based in Kriel Mpumalanga and become a key player in optimising our maintenance operations at Matla Coal. This permanent role seeks an experienced engineering professional to enhance equipment availability and support production goals. With a focus on continuous improvement you will lead routine and breakdown maintenance implement process innovations and manage stakeholder relationships. Experience in a mining environment with at least 5 years in maintenance and 2 years in a supervisory role is essential. Youll need a National Diploma in Engineering relevant Artisan Trade accreditation and the ability to foster a safe and collaborative work culture. Duties & Responsibilities
- Optimise maintenance resources to ensure equipment availability aligns with production targets.
- Lead and manage routine and breakdown maintenance activities ensuring timely interventions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through research and process innovations.
- Liaise with other sections to enhance maintenance operations and technology management.
- Establish and manage stakeholder relationships to support core business functions and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Adhere to and implement best practices functional policies and standards for maintenance processes.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with Safety Health and Environmental policies.
- Foster a culture of teamwork manage staff performance and oversee HR-related activities for the maintenance team.
- Ensure accountability and high standards of quality in maintenance work delivered.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
- Relevant Artisan Trade accreditation with MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate in First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
- B Tech in Engineering (Recommended/Desirable)
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a mining and equipment environment
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role either in surface or underground mining
- Capability to manage routine and breakdown maintenance activities effectively
- Strong continuous improvement and innovation skills in maintenance processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and support core business functions
- Compliance with Safety Health and Environmental standards
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
