Job Description
Job Purpose
To safeguard the organization s digital assets networks and information systems by implementing security measures monitoring security infrastructure and responding to incidents. The Information Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor network activity to identify potential threats or unauthorized access.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
Maintain and update security systems such as firewalls antivirus software and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS).
Assist in the development and implementation of security policies protocols and procedures.
Provide training and awareness programs to staff on cybersecurity best practices.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST POPIA GDPR).
Collaborate with IT and other departments to support security-related projects.
Generate reports on incidents vulnerabilities and security status for management.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or related field.
3 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Professional certifications such as CISSP CISM CompTIA Security or CEH are advantageous.
Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEMs (e.g. Splunk QRadar) vulnerability scanners (e.g. Nessus) and endpoint protection platforms.
Solid understanding of firewalls VPNs IDS/IPS and network monitoring.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to incidents.
Knowledge of current cybersecurity threats and trends.
Familiarity with cloud security (AWS Azure Google Cloud) is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of incidents detected and resolved.
Average time to incident resolution.
Compliance audit pass rate.
Security awareness training participation and completion rates.
Number of vulnerabilities identified and remediated.
Relevant Sales, Marketing or Business qualification 2+ years experience in operations, logistics or account/project management Excellent client communication and escalation handling Strong data interpretation and reporting skills Background in telecom, logistics, or tech fulfilment is a plus 5+ years of architecture experience plus certification Business Architecture and Technical Architecture skills Application Architecture and Solution Architecture skills Experience in developing Enterprise Architecture Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team
