The role

The Policy and Project Officer in the Crown Lands Strategic Policy team undertakes and provides support for the development and implementation of policies and projects and provision of policy advice on a range of topics such as climate change and sustainability. The role also undertakes Branch policy and related projects to inform decision making relating to the use and management of land and natural resources in NSW.

What youll be doing

  • Undertake policy and project activities that contribute to the development of policy initiatives (e.g. climate change and sustainability initiatives) legislation reviews programs and services to achieve the strategic objectives of Department.
  • Participate on project teams to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of policy delivery and inform policy development
  • Prepare advice in the form of briefs policy and discussion papers to respond to Ministerial Cabinet or Departmental requests
  • Establish and foster productive consultative relationships with Government agencies industry stakeholders and key peak body representatives to support effective policy development
  • Undertake research analysis and review of options to contribute to the policy process to inform decision making and contribute to the evaluation and reporting on policy outcomes
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Divisions cabinet legislative and regulatory programs.
