Job Description
Position : Scientific Program Manager
Work Hours (Client) : 9:00am - 6:00pm EST
Location of Search : Preference: South Africa
Work Location : REMOTE
About the Role
This is a mission-critical role focused on directly supporting senior clients and building/optimizing our cold outreach engine through Clay and related automation platforms. Youll be the backbone of our outbound infrastructure directly supporting and impacting client outcomes and further accelerating overall company growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of new therapeutic pathways for rare diseases.
Collaborate with a part-time Principal Scientist and broader R&D team.
Manage end-to-end research projects from design to execution.
Guide scientific decision-making and ensure rigor in methodologies.
Provide mentorship and oversight to junior scientists or collaborators.
Engage with the patient community to align research goals with patient needs.
Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
Must-Have Qualifications
PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. biology pharmacology molecular genetics).
Proven track record in managing research initiatives and complex projects.
Deep understanding of rare disease biology and therapeutic discovery.
Strong communication organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have
Experience in building or leading research teams.
Familiarity with regulatory pathways and documentation for drug development.
Experience working with rare disease advocacy groups or patient communities.
KPIs / Success Metrics
Development of viable therapeutic paths supported by scientific evidence.
On-time delivery of key research milestones.
Positive collaboration feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
