About the Opportunity
Our Client in the Motor Industry is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Advanced) for a flexible contract role based at their IT Hub in South Africa. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining vital digital platforms that power international dealer networks and business-critical systems.
What You ll Do
Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to clarify requirements and design innovative solutions.
Develop test and maintain Java-based applications with extensive integration points.
Manage production deployments release management and incident resolution.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Terraform Docker and Kubernetes.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Prepare technical documentation aligned with ISO standards.
Support system audits quality assurance and change management processes.
Deliver knowledge transfer and user training.
What We re Looking For
2 to 3 years experience in both Development (Java/JEE RESTful APIs Spring Boot) and DevOps operations.
Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices: Terraform Docker Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL Elasticsearch) and unit testing frameworks (JUnit Mockito).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITSM tools like Remedy.
Advantageous skills: Cloud architecture (AWS/OpenShift) Apache Kafka Ansible SAP Hybris Grafana Kibana.
Degree in IT or equivalent experience plus relevant backend development certifications.
