Description: A manufacturer of personal care products is looking for a Production Machine Setter to set-up and run the Liquid and Cream Filling Line to optimise productivity and assure quality. The duties include but are not limited to: Set up all equipment per job in accordance with Work Instructions and Machine Manuals to achieve optimum results that are within the specifications of each piece of machinery or equipment. Ensure that the machine set up is optimised for balance and quality outputs. Provide leadership and training to Production Staff on monitoring the operational running of machines. Carry out changes to machine settings where necessary where standard settings and standard adjustments are not producing the required results. Assess/test/check/reset machines where there are issues concerns or difficulties with a machine or with the balance of the line. Understand the production process so that machine setup is optimised for productivity and output. Ensure compliance with quality productivity and maintenance standards. Complete necessary preparation and information gathering for process/layout and or machinery change. Achieve competency on new process and machines as required. Complete the necessary documents and sign off for Process or Machine Change. Maintain housekeeping of machinery to standard. Adhere to health and safety regulations and protocols. Utilize PPE safety equipment and health and safety protocols wherever necessary. Complete all tasks in accordance with Work Instructions SOPs and Machine Manuals. Assist and train Production Assistants and Line Operators. Compile and/or review ISO22716 GMP SOPs and Work Instructions pertaining to Production Machines.
Key Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4 (N3) with relevant post matric qualification such as Diploma in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Fitting and Turning Millwright or Toolmaking training. Experience in setting or operating CNC machines automated production lines and manufacturing equipment. Pneumatic hydraulic electrical and mechanical machinery exposure will be beneficial. Ability to read technical drawings and set specifications. Computer literacy (especially for CNC or automated systems).
Additional Requirements: Manual dexterity. Physical stamina and flexibility sufficient to bend stretch crawl and stay prone for periods of time. Able to work at height on a ladder and in confined spaces. Mechanical aptitude. Attention to detail.
