Job Description

Overview

M&J Engineering P.C. is a quality provider of multi-discipline consulting services with over 300 employees. Since its inception in 2004 M&J has grown into diversified provider of engineering construction management construction inspection technology and environmental services to a broad range of clients including federal state and city/local agencies private owners architects engineers and contractors.

M&J Engineering is a leader in construction management and inspection ITS mechanical electrical wastewater water supply tunnel airport port marine/coastal environmental engineering and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations.

The Structural Inspection Quality Control Engineer will support WMATAs Structural Inspection Quality Control and Maintenance Engineering programs. These roles are essential to ensuring the safety reliability and compliance of WMATAs structural assets. Candidates will work in the field conducting inspections documenting deficiencies and coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams to address structural issues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections of bridges tunnels aerial structures and station elements.
  • Perform quality control reviews and prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Identify and document structural deficiencies in accordance with NBIS and AASHTO standards.
  • Issue red/yellow flags and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Maintain inspection logs test records and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with WMATA staff contractors and third-party inspectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 10 years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of inspection standards and documentation.
  • Excellent leadership and analytical skills.
  • NBIS certification (N-I or N-III)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: $98000 - $120000
