Job Description

Permits and Projects Officer (Construction Management)

Temporary 2-day Part Time (From August 2025 - February 2026)

Band 5- Pro-Rata starting at $78448.84 Superannuation

An exciting opportunity exists to become part of the Permits and Consents (Construction Management) team in the Infrastructure Traffic & Civil Engineering Branch at Yarra City Council. This is a busy and highly motivated team who are responsible to assess and issue a variety of occupation permits and consents relating to building and utility works within the municipality.

The successful applicant will have:

  • An understanding of relevant legislation including the Road Management Act and associated Consents and Councils Local Laws and the permits issued under them.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a high workload of permits with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Great problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
