Job Description

Outdoor Education Teacher for 2026

  • Full-time 1 year contract position for 2026

The School

Hillbrook is a co-educational school of 900 students from Years 7-12 established in 1987. The School is growing over the next two years with up to 1008 students by 2027.

Our innovative and refreshing approach to education aligns with the Australian Curriculum and reflects Hillbrooks philosophy In Balance we Grow. We focus on quality teaching and learning and specialise in nurturing adolescents. Students are encouraged to engage in a range of pursuits to achieve a balance between the academic creative physical and spiritual aspects of their lives.

The school actively supports teachers professional development through study leave generous professional development opportunities and access to Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher national certification. Staff are encouraged to be involved in the collegial ethos of the school. All applicants need to be supportive of the values of an independent Anglican school.

The School Leadership Team (SLT) comprises the Principal Deputy Principal Dean of Student Wellbeing Dean of Teaching & Learning and the Business Manager.

The Position

Hillbrook is seeking a full-time Outdoor Education Teacher to join our team from 1 January to 31 December 2026.

Outdoor Education at Hillbrook provides innovative and effective experiential programming through collaboration and commitment. As a compulsory and integral part of our curriculum our unique mobile program utilises public and private land within SEQ and beyond.

With an emphasis on sustainability and place adventurous activities are utilised as a vehicle to achieve teaching and learning objectives and adolescent social-emotional development. Hillbrook Outdoor Educators are pivotal to the safe and effective delivery of our program and demonstrate collaboration and commitment to deliver on our strategic initiative of excellence in Outdoor Education.

Applications are sought from teachers who are confident and passionate about engaging adolescents in the outdoors and are motivated to contribute to program planning and preparation.
