You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Ambulatory Urology Technician is responsible for performing delegated activities related to patient care and overall team support in the urology department. The Urology Technician assists patients with laboratory sample collection under the direction of a registered nurse. Under the supervision of a provider will assist with direct patient care and necessary equipment used during cystoscopies. The Ambulatory Urology Technician may be responsible for preparing patients prior to urological procedures and assisting intraprocedure under the direction of a provider RN or LPN. The Ambulatory Urology Technician is an individual who through didactic and supervised practice has acquired the knowledge and developed the skills necessary to provide multiple patient care responsibilities including basic procedures in the ambulatory urology setting. Is responsible for maintaining competency in current scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection.
High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
Additional Qualifications :
Demonstrates self-motivation and flexibility. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Works flexible hours to meet the demands of the work unit. Able to function in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills. Previous health care education or experience preferred.
License or Certification :
Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
