About the Opportunity:

KB Seafood Co one of Australias leading seafood companies is making waves with the national launch of our brand-new Bluewave range into independent retailers.

Bluewave isnt just seafood its premium-quality responsibly sourced and crafted for freshness flavour and convenience. From innovative value-added products to classic favourites were bringing consumer seafood theyll love and were doing it with the expertise that comes from decades in the industry.

Now were looking for a motivated results-driven State Account Manager to help us take Bluewave from idea to icon in the independent retail space.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Independent Retail the role will be primarily responsible for achieving new sales and profitability targets developing new business relationships within the Independent Retail channel.

The position will be permanent full-time and based in Canning Vale Western Australia (75% customer engagement).

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key accounts to drive mutual growth in conjunction with the National strategic plan.
  • Lead promotional planning with strong commercial acumen negotiating and implementing strategies to boost sales and market share.
  • Manage existing independent supermarket accounts in your region.
  • Build strong relationships with store owners and managers.
  • Resolve supply issues manage stock on hand (SOH) reports and support the ordering process.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with retail partners to gather data identify gaps and provide field insights.

In-Store Execution & Retail Development

  • Lead store-level activation and merchandising for our seafood products.
  • Ensure compliance with planograms seasonal promotions clearance programs and in-store tasting setups.
  • Act as the brand ambassador ensuring product visibility proper facings and the freshness of our offerings.

New Business Development

  • Identify and focus on high-potential independent retail customers.
  • Present full seafood solutions through category expertise (Chilled and frozen range).
  • Collaborate on tailored and region-based product ranging options.

Reporting & Insights

  • Submit weekly reports with photos execution wins competitor activity and challenges.
  • Capture field-level insights on pricing trends consumer feedback and emerging products.

What youll bring:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented professional with a background in sales account management or merchandising. The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of achieving strong commercial outcomes through a tenacious and passionate approach.

A critical component of success in this role is the ability to cultivate a deep understanding of customer needs fostering robust networks both internally and externally. The successful applicant will be customer-centric proactive in owning their performance metrics and dedicated to building genuine long-term partnerships that drive sustainable growth.

  • Sales or Merchandising Expertise: Demonstrated experience working with Independent Grocery group networks.
  • Client Engagement: A preference for face-to-face interaction to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the Seafood Meat or Poultry sectors is highly regarded though not essential.
  • Mobility: A current Australian drivers license.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: A collaborative work style and the capacity to engage effectively with all internal departments.
  • Technical Proficiency: A high level of computer literacy including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
