Caterpillars E&T Procurement organization plays a critical role in supporting all divisions within Energy and Transportation. Job Summary

This individual will support the execution of designing developing deploying and monitoring procurement capabilities to provide business solutions that are globally effective & applicable. This position is responsible for overseeing E&T (Energy and Transportation) purchasing activities coordinating unlaunched requisitions managing supplier contracts and facilitating the integration of ambassador SPPD projects.

What You Will Do:

• Leading projects associated with lean processes global market understanding tools and systems.

• Designs and develops solutions collaborates with senior stakeholders and business users to collect VOB/VOC business requirements and prepares implementation plans for successful deployment.

• Contributes to strategic initiatives such as the development of standardized best practices offerings services and developing the associated tools & training.

• Serves as the lead technical representative for a respective discipline and will work directly with a wide range of procurement / enterprise representatives including presenting recommendations to senior leaders.

What You Will Have:

Business Process Improvement: Working knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying evaluating introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.

• Gathers data for use in the analysis of business processes.

• Illustrates problems opportunities and methods for improving existing business processes.

• Participates in requirements analysis for process changes.

Data Analytics: Working knowledge of techniques and processes for inspecting cleansing transforming and modeling data; ability to discover useful information draw logical conclusions and support decision-making

• Collects required data through various data sources and documents for evaluating trends and activities.

• Assists in preparing charts graphs tables and other tools to represent the results obtained from data analysis.

• Researches business-related data analyzes interprets and presents findings to management.

• Recognizes and assesses problems opportunities and methods for improving existing business performance.

• Utilizes designated data analysis software to analyze the data.

Effective Communications: Working knowledge of understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

• Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient.

• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

• Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.

• Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.

Matrix Management: Working knowledge of understanding of the importance of being able to leverage external resources when required and ability to build and use effective working relationships within own department and across department functional and geographic reporting lines

• Communicates effectively up down and across the organization.

• Balances requirements and deliverables from various functional areas.

• Describes basic viewpoint of own functional specialty.

• Under guidance identifies and resolves potentially conflicting requirements.

• Keeps relevant functional and line associates involved on key project or tactical issues.

Procurement Function: Working knowledge of responsibilities accountabilities and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.

• Summarizes the mission vision and objectives of the procurement function.

• Follows procurement regulations and contract specifications to perform tasks.

• Participates in meetings regarding relevant regulatory considerations and agencies of the procurement function

• Implements regular procurement programs initiatives and issues.

• Documents the steps and requirements of the procurement process.

Summary Pay Range:
