Washington Adventist Universitys Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Assistant Coach to help foster student-athlete growth sportsmanship and team spirit. This role is designed for individuals who wish to contribute their time and talents to support our Womens Soccer program in a non-paid community service capacity.
Key Responsibilities(occasional and non-operational)
Assist at select practices with basic drills and warm-ups under the Head Coachs supervision.
Serve as a mentor to student-athletes promoting teamwork sportsmanship and academic success.
Provide support during home games for non-strategic tasks (e.g. equipment setup hydration stations).
Participate in team community service projects and outreach events.
Prohibited Activities To maintain volunteer status under federal and state labor laws volunteers will not:
Conduct formal recruiting or scouting of athletes.
Independently plan practices or develop game strategy.
Make in-game coaching decisions or lead the program in the Head Coachs absence.
Supervise or manage paid staff or student workers.
Time Commitment
Flexible and irregular schedule based on availability typically 510 hours per month.
Participation is voluntary and may be ended by either party at any time.
Qualifications
Knowledge of soccer fundamentals and enthusiasm for working with student-athletes.
Commitment to the mission and values of Washington Adventist University.
Must be 18 years or older and successfully complete a background check.
