KEY OBJECTIVE:

You will have a dual role of independently providing support to the underwriting function of the department by handling a portfolio of commercial lines renewal business and endorsement activity as well as working on special projects as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather and analyze account information and make underwriting recommendations.

  • Risk selection coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy on renewal business.

  • Service endorsement activity.

  • Manage special operational projects for the Department as needed.

  • Develop and establish relationships with brokers.

  • Contribute to account rate/renewal strategy.

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve customer satisfaction profit and goals.

  • Handle individual risk inquiries from brokers and make appropriate decisions.

  • Input to @vantage system and preparation of quotes for renewals.

  • Issuance of Commercial Lines Policies in the @vantage system.

  • Underwriting file set-up and maintenance.

  • Monitor booking and rate accuracy.

  • Miscellaneous duties as requested.



Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of underwriting experienceor equivalent industry work experience is preferred.

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills previous experience in dealing with brokers.

  • Proven ability to solve problems independently and with success.

  • Ability to respond as a team player in a multi-task environment.

  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to follow-up independently.

  • Strong communications skills; both oral and written.

  • High degree of technical knowledge attained in current job.

  • Experience with @vantage/CUW would be a benefit.

  • A demonstrated ability to affect positive change when a need is identified.
