Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Passenger Assistant on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Hours per week: 20.00
Rate of Pay: 12.26 - 15.82 per hour
Summary:
To undertake a range of passenger transport functions within Fleet Operations ensuring effective provision in line with service requirements and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support the driver in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from school.
- Assist children when boarding and alighting from the vehicle including the safe securing of wheelchair users and those with mobility needs.
- Supervise children throughout the journey ensuring appropriate behaviour and safety standards are maintained.
- Provide reassurance and assistance to children with additional needs or disabilities.
- Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with children parents carers and school staff.
Experience:
- Experience in the transportation of passenger
- Minimum of 4 years driving experience
- Experience in working to tight schedule
- Experience of working with vulnerable people
Requirements:
- A full endorsement free driving licence that includes category D Licence
- Manual Handling training
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Emergency First Aid Qualification
- Wheelchair securing knowledge
