Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Truck Driver transports merchandise to and from various locations in the local area by driving a tractor trailer or 22 truck.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Drives tractor trailer or 22 truck.
- Performs daily inspection and maintains cleanliness of equipment reporting any malfunctions.
- Prepares necessary paperwork/daily logs for transportation records.
- Operates mobil radio.
- Moves trailers to and from docks at distribution center and Outdoor World.
- Loads/unloads trucks as needed.
- Practices good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
- Assists other departments as directed.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have clean driving record
- Must have a Class A CDL
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Proven experience driving and backing trailers
- Time management skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Local travel
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly sits
- Occasionally walks stands and/or lifts up to 50 lbs.
- Seldom/never performs computer work
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
- Performs tasks and duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures policies and practices.
