Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our Life Sciences facility in Spain. This role is critical for maintaining optimal temperature control systems that support our research development and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install maintain and repair refrigeration systems specific to life science applications including ultra-low temperature freezers cold rooms and laboratory cooling equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration units to ensure compliance with GMP and other regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex refrigeration system issues using technical documentation and diagnostic tools
• Monitor refrigerant levels and perform refills according to environmental regulations and safety protocols
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and validation documentation for audit purposes
• Collaborate with facility management and laboratory staff to address cooling needs
• Respond to emergency situations and temperature excursions to protect sensitive biological materials
• Ensure compliance with Spanish and EU regulations regarding refrigerants and environmental impact

Qualifications

• Technical degree or certification in refrigeration engineering HVAC or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience with industrial refrigeration systems preferably in pharmaceutical biotechnology or healthcare environments
• Knowledge of GMP ISO standards and regulatory requirements applicable to life science facilities
• Experience with computerized building management systems and temperature monitoring systems
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electronic control systems
• Valid F-gas certification and understanding of current refrigerant regulations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Fluent Spanish required; English proficiency preferred
