As a Junior Backend Engineer at Grabyo; you will have exposure to the backend APIs and services that power the core of the Grabyo Platform. Some days you might be part of the team behind key features like building markers in the Live clipping or AI-powered highlights workflows. Other days you could contribute to evolving our architecture as we advance towards a scalable microservices-based platform.

Key Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities at Grabyo include (but are not limited to):
Build robust scalable APIs and microservices with a strong emphasis on reliability performance and maintainability.
Contributing to architecting and building reliable serverless applications using Java Go and the AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).
Working collaboratively with Product owners to deliver key security scalability and reliability features.
Taking ownership of your work/project by designing building maintaining iterating and supporting new features and new products
At least one year of commercial experience in backend development.
Experience in Java development including the use of Spring Boot framework.
Experience with testing (unit tests UA tests etc.).
Knowledge of microservice oriented architectures.
Experience with cloud providers (bonus points for AWS our chosen cloud provider).
Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL).
A strong problem-solving attitude.
Passion for emerging technologies and a strong willingness to learn and grow.

The Recruitment Process
We aim to have a quick and dynamic hiring process. This process lasts around two weeks and it has the following stages:
Stage 1: Introductory Call (30 minutes)
A conversation with our Engineering Manager and HR to get to know each other discuss your background and share more about the role and our team.
Stage 2: Remote Technical Assessment (2 hours total) conducted over 12 days depending on your availability. This includes two 60-minute sessions:
Pair Programming Collaborate with one of our engineers on a coding problem.
Whiteboard Exercise Solve a design or architecture challenge with a Senior Engineer.
Stage 3: Final Interview (30 minutes)
A discussion with the Senior Engineering Manager focused on your long-term goals potential growth within the company and any remaining questions you might have.
