Job Description
- Interact with Crew Supervisor and Manufacturing Specialists to provide needed tooling and direction for the purpose of assisting employees to make product that meets the Customers expectations at levels of productivity that meet or exceed the established plan. Reports directly to the Tool Room Supervisor in-directly to Tool Room Machinist.
- Operation of the Makino Milling Machines and other tool room equipment as trained (i.e. Wheelabrator manual mill and grinders) Tooling preparations i.e. breakdown cleaning and building of tooling to be machined.
- Measure step heights on punches and log data into the tool room step list.
- Maintain punch cut records compacting tool sign-out sheets and dispense to oven sheets.
- Receive tooling in from vendors; perform inspection of product related tooling as needed.
- One or more Tooling specialist assigned to write tool path programs for the Makino mills.
- Basic operation of computer used to transfer programs to the Makino mills.
- Safety work in a safe manner.
- Assist with tooling inventory as needed.
- One or more Tooling Specialist assigned to support training.
- Perform daily / monthly operator PMs.
- Assure production readiness of Tool and Die.
- In addition to the above responsibilities this position is responsible for other tasks as assigned.
- KNOWLEDGE/AWARENESS IN THE FOLLOWING CNC/machining background a plus Blueprint reading a plus Drill Press Sawing.
