Job Description
Overview
Client is seeking a Scientist with a strong laboratory background to perform complex sample preparation cell-based assays and high-throughput screening to support early drug discovery. This role requires hands-on experience with lab automation data analysis and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cell-based and high-throughput assays to identify drug leads and support Medicinal Chemistry programs.
- Operate automation tools liquid handling systems and plate-handling equipment.
- Analyze interpret and present experimental data; recommend next steps.
- Review results against SOPs protocols and product specifications; perform self-QC before submission.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline workflows.
- Accurately enter and maintain data in databases and reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biology Molecular Biology Cellular Biology Biochemistry or related field.
- 2 years of relevant lab experience (or equivalent combination of education training and experience).
- Proficiency in data analysis Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software/hardware.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot lab automation.
- Flexible detail-oriented and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with high-throughput screening (HTS) instrumentation.
- Familiarity with liquid handling automation and plate-based assays.
Work Environment
- Fully onsite in San Diego.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime and rotating weekends based on business needs.
- Fast-paced highly matrixed team setting.
